If robo-advisors are all similarly programmed, they will eventually start to move markets. If they all sell one thing, and buy another, then one class of assets will go down, and the other will go up, just because of robo-advisors. As is usually the case with any investing fad, the sharp investors who buy whatever investment the masses are currently disdaining will end up making most of the money.
